having a beer on wednesday evening at Fast Eddies if you get to the area. fast Eddies is not a crazy place on St Pats day.. We get there about 5 and gone by 8-830,  Burger and a beer or two but not much more than that... Keeps the crabbiness away.  We started doing this about 20 years ago with three couples and last year we filled 7 big tables...Come by if you can...

So has anyone come up with anything yet?  A weekend camp out at Mark Twain State Park, perhaps?  There is over 18,000 acres of water at hand, as well as a nice shooting range just several miles away.

I have another thought,  the place is remote, no power, no water, plenty of room to camp (mark Twain National Forest).  1.5 miles  from the Big Piney and a 10 minute drive to Waynesville/St Robert.  I am a 1/3 owner of the Flying Pig Ranch near Devils Elbow,Mo in Pulaski County near Fort Leonard Wood.  the place is 99 % timber.  there is hardly any level ground...  We are off the pavement 5-6 miles and down a forestry road that is full of 5 inch deep puddles, but the road bed is solid. there are 5-6 camp sites on the forestry road and we could handle a few on the small cleared area we have there... We have a fire ring.  We have a small shooting area, mostly for hand guns, but we could make a spot to shoot clays.  this place is made for a mountain goat, it drops well over 200 feet from one corner to the opposite one..ridges and valleys.. Nice tree canopy on a hot day or head to the river access for some swimming...totally remote and we should be undisturbed.  10 minutes south of I44  between Newburg and St Robert....Just a thought...

That could be interesting, Scott.  Is that near the Gasconade River?

the Big Piney is only 1.5 miles from our place...but there are no conveniences at all.. Just a fire pit and a small lean-to

When we bought the place, there was a camper on it, but it was mouse ridden.. so we asked that it be removed as a condition of purchase... the plumbing of that trailer is still strewn along the forestry road on the way into our place...

Just remember it's going to be warm most likely. I can not imagine trying to sleep without ac last year, hot as it was.
That said, it would be kinda cool if we could make an end of June date because we should have the McDonald decision by then.
I'm still up for whatever though
