I was just wondering if there's been any discussion about a get together for this spring. I really enjoyed last years and look forward to getting with you all again. It would be nice to hold off until post McDonald, but I don't know how others feel about that. On the other hand it also would be nice to do it at a time when we're less likely to have the extreme hot weather like we did last year,

I'm afraid finances are going to be exceptionally strapped for us this year.  Spending more than a bit of gas money is out of the question.

I'll certainly watch for further developments!  I'm game, depending on schedule.

I'm game for something, for sure.  I know the weekend schedule here at our place will pretty much eliminate trying to add another event here.  We have TONS of classes scheduled this spring which doesn't leave us much time to make any other preparations.

I wouldn't be opposed at all to a weekend camp at some place like the Huzzah State Forest (free camping and sits right on the beautiful Courtois Creek and Meremec River), or one of the other fine facilities here in the state that may not be as "primitive" as Huzzah.  A fishing trip could certainly work, but we always seem to run into a logistical problem of not enough boats, so if we are going to fish, it probably needs to be somewhere where a boat isn't a requirement.  We could always consider getting together for a float trip on the Jacks Fork or Current River.  We have some beautiful streams here!

Not a bad idea. A camping trip might be good, with fishing/boating as an option would be intresting, me thinks

Considering the folks who attended last year Mark Twain Lake might be a good option.....

At Mark Twain and the state forest and places like that, can we exercise our right to bear arms while there?

Yes, in Missouri you can carry in State Parks, State Forests, National Parks, and National Forests.  A number of our State Parks have range facilities nearby.

I know the get togethers have been two day events in the past...  I have a place, but right now with out some cajoling I can only pull off a one day event or possibly a friday night arrival and all day on saturday... how do you feel about that...I could probably pull off a two day affair later in the summer, but there is no A/C. , but we are on a hill top and the breeze is usually there.  Not much indoor sleeping, but plenty of room for tents...and or campers... The place is about 8 miles from Rolla Mo... I doubt that Sharps or PV would complain.  tell me what seems best for everyone..

If it gets real hot, we have several ponds for fishing and swimming.... I do not have a range as I am a shotgunner, but We can throw a ton of clays there..I have a spot for rimfires but not really a spot for bigger guns...
