  So i went out for a hunt tonight. Went from 2:45 to sun down.... POORING RAIN.. you would think it would be miserable sitting up in a tree stand.  I set up my blind underneat my stand and thought about getting in it but decided to go ahead and stay in the stand despite the rain because of better sight.  So i climb back up after setting up my blind (which i left up there) and just sit in the rain.  it died down.  so got to play around on my phone a bit more...then it just got half way bright outside and then it starts POORING on me.  It was awesome to be honest.  To just sit there and listen to the rain beat all around me and off my hat.  to hear it all through the trees.  almost magical.  Then about 50 yrds away I saw a bunch of turkeys.  Of coarse they dont wanna come down to me and come in range.  no they go the opposite way (i'll be investing in a turkey call tomorrow)  then later they came back and started roosting in the trees like 50-55 yards away.  Man those turkey can get up there for real. they were about 60 ft up in the air jumping form tree to tree.  I was hoping they would come over and land in a nest about 20 yrds awway and 30 ft up.  i woulda taken a shot then..but no dice.  Didnt see any deer tonight. I think it was raining to hard and a little warm.. But i figured since it rained all day and night before that they might get out early.  Well guess i'll get back at it next week.  Were about to get into the time where you wanna be out there every min you get a chance.  well lawn seasons over and only have to be at the fire dept ever 3rd day so lots of hunting time coming up!  lets get this contest thing kicked off!! lol

Tomorrow may be a good day to get out in the woods once this rain moves out.  I suspect there will be some deer up and moving.  Yeah, it's been pretty nasty out most of the day.

Yep it rained up here all day too, and is still raining. I don't think we have had 10 days so far in October that it DID NOT RAIN. We have had over 10" or rain this month. I sure will be glad when November gets here as it is supposed to be below normal precipitation.

Yea i bet this morning woulda been a good day to be out there... maybe the afternoon to but i've got plenty of crap to do so.... but i think come next week i'm gonna be out there quiet a bit.  Gotta make up with the wife and get on the good side so i can get away with being out there alot.  Need the temp to drop about 15 degrees.  its been in the 60's most the week so its a little warm out there.  Daylight savings time tomorrow so its gonna get darker sooner so thats gonna help me being able to hunt.  Wont tick off my wife by being out till 7 every night...

Yo i've been preaching that for a few years.  i been married since i was 18... 5 yrs now!  I know how it is.  I got 2 kids and let me tell ya.  It aint any fun when mamma aint happy!
