I had occasion to stop by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Region #2 office today to pick up my waterfowl stamps for the upcoming season. I took some pics for ya all with my camera phone, thinking about blue bird with every click.

This Flathead was taken in KS, and it weighed 70 lbs. The pic dont do the mount justice-

This bison was shot from a train (legally) in 1907 in Butler County, KS. My grandfather was born in 1907-

I think Wyote would agree that this is a trophy pronghorn, also taken in western KS

And now the fun stuff. Check out these nice KS deer in the following pictures-

Pretty nice, huh? Not QDM, but genetics, me thinks. Anywho, they all have one thing in common- all of those deer were confiscated by KDWP for various offenses. Crime does not pay (unless its corporate or gubment) its always best to follow the rules.

But it has a happy ending. This impressive buck was taken legally and is on loan to the office-

There were a lot of other critters in there, but I thought most of you would enjoy these pics...I know I liked gawking at them.  wink

Yep, guess he could be a pure Muley also, in which case he's more average than a true giant, but real nice regardless.

In that first deer pic, the deer on the right is about as cymetrical as I've seen lately
Great pics!
