domestic dogs. I've had a problem with ferral cats this year too, but they don't get the same treatment as dogs do.

I release all dogs unharmed. The traps I use have wide faced cast jaws that do no paw damage.

That's just what I figured.....on a couple of occations when I have seen 3 or 4 dogs chasing a deer I have been tempted to shoot them but I haven't......I can't say the same for cats.....although I havent seen any cats chasing deer I have seen plenty of rabbit and bird nests that have been laid to waste by cats....

Thats very cool. Can you post some info on those traps to us dummys? That is a good argument in favor of trapping.

These 3 traps all have cast jaws. I've caught the dogs in the middle size one and I've caught small critters in all 3 of them with no paw or leg damage. I wouldn't recommend targeting small animals with the biggest of the 3. It is designed for coyote and bobcat. These are Minnesota Brand traps and are quite expensive but the cast jaws have been well worth it. The biggest of them 3 comes in different style jaws. The 2 bigger ones have an offset, which is a gap in between the jaws when they are fully closed. The offsets are suppose to make the animal more comfortable because they do not restrict blood flow as much as jaws that completely close. The one in front is the MB450, the left one is the MB550, and the right one is the MB650 cast jaw model.

Well caught another coyote today where we caught the grey fox in the above picture. Big nice furred sucker. My batteries were dead in the camera so no action pics. I did get a couple pics when we got back to my grandpas house. I'll try to get them posted if I can find my USB cord for the camera.
Bluescout.......we are hopefully headed into the country. We currently live in city limits and need some extra space. Pretty much so I don't have to continuosly look over my shoulder while I'm peeing outside. LOL!!!
