Well, new for me anyway. The pic I am attaching does not show this call fully. It is a two side slate and glass call. That concept is not new. In fact I have made a two side call for several years myself. What is new (for me anyway) is the two surfaces are both 3 1/2 in dia. and the call is only 3/4 in thick.

The call in the pic is the last prototype I made and it is very close soundwise to what I am looking for. I think it needs a little twinking of the sound hole size and one interior dimension.

Looks pretty interesting, PV.  So, you will be able to use the striker on either side of the call?

Yea, one side is slate and the other is bead blasted glass. Two distinct sounds, one striker. To me this is the real fun part of making turkey calls.

And that would add a lot of versatility to the call as well.  The hunter could carry one call instead of two!

Well, here is the end result. Sound and volume are good. Now I need to find an easier and quicker way to make them,

Looks great PV, if it sounds as good as the slate of yours that I have, it should be an awesome call to have in the turkey woods.

The development of this call is completed and some pics added of the end result. The call features a sound board turned into the body of the call and two 3.5 in striking surfaces. I named the new call "dual Jewel" It is truely two calls in one package.

Looks good, PV!  I guess you get a completely different sound from one side to the other?

Yea. The slate side is a higher pitch. I won't go into the details of how this call was developed except to say volume and consistancy of sound both presented problems. BTW, I have named this call the Dual Jewel.

I'v been tweeking this call for a while and finally have everything in line. For a benchmade field call it is very time consuming to build, but it is ready to go! My wife says I have finally built a call I can't afford to sell, and she may be right.

I am already tinkering around with a new design for a youth hunter call that shows some promise and hope to get a few ready for this season.

Well, I'm finally in production with this call. It has passed all the tests and I am very satisfied with it. Still requires a lot of time to produce but is well worth it in the end.

I will have some with me at the Truth and Outdoors expo this weekend at Union. Stop by and play one.

I'll post some info in the Flea market soon.
