Members of MHS,

The following issue has been brought to my attention by several members as of late and I unfortunately have found it necessary to bring it to the attention of the members of MHS.

Please make sure any posts made are on topic and relevant to the topic of the thread you are posting in.  If your post is not on topic and relevant to the thread it will be subject to deletion.

This is a situation which will require ALL MEMBERS to police themselves as well as others.  If you notice ANYONE who is not staying on topic, please notify TomKat, MOHunter, or Bluebird and the issue will be handled.  It is up to the membership to make sure all members are being responsible for what they are posting.

I have had several members who have contacted me about this issue.  They are upset that threads they have started have been derailed and are no longer even close to the topic, resulting in potential losses of valuable information.

We appreciate your help! ! !

Thank you,

TomKat, MOHunter, and Bluebird

Jesse - We understand that each topic and thread will have it's own natural progression, and eventually a lot of topics can be pretty far off of what they started out being.  That is quite alright and perfectly acceptable.

What we are wanting to avoid is the immediate and completely off-topic comments that seem to derail a thread that could potentially be very infomative.  In other words, when someone starts a new topic about something, maybe something like "I shot my new rifle yesterday" and then another person comes along in the first few replies and asks or makes a comment completely irrelevant to the topic, such as "Did you ever get that new dog you were talking about getting?", it tends to kill the entire thread.

What we would like to see is that the threads are allowed to take their natural course instead of immediately getting derailed.  Bluebird and I have both had a couple of complaints about this and it has resulted in less participation here by the people who bought it to our attention.  We would like to try to stop that if at all possible.

For the record, we will not delete a post that follows along with the natural progression of the thread, it would have to be something completely irrelevant like the example I listed above.

Jesse, as long as the ramblings stay relevant there won't be a problem!   cheesy cheesy cheesy  You know as well as I do that "relevant" as I am using it here is meant to be "BROAD".  There is lots of bend in "relevant" so don't get into to much of a tissy wink cheesy........Reloading and Pie Making just don't belong together, they belong in their own individual threads! ! ! cheesy

Thank you very much, Jesse!  I know for a fact that TomKat and all of the MHS staff want this site to be a place that people WANT to go.  That said, it is good folks like you that make this site great and we want to make sure that you all continue to come here and participate.
