Yes sir, I know what you mean.  No need to turn things in to a mudslinging contest, and certainly don't want any legal problems.  If someone is unhappy with a particular product, I'd rather they post about it in the forums where it can be discussed by everyone.

As I expected...we are on the same page. It is a shame that people have to worry about that, but as you know MOHunter there is room for abuse by some. Too bad people just can't all be honest and straight forward.........ya in a perfect world.

In the mean time we can report on things that are actually OK or better and reserve the slams for things that can be totally justified beyond reproach. My regular MO is to report on good items and just do not say anything about the bad ones..........the inbetween I give the company the option of my less than top notch review or do not report.

I wish I could more freely report the bad but who can? Too many problems if you do......and for those that complain about it, well it is not their aXX (or their families) on the line and they need to realize how things work.

I agree, Kelly.  If I find a product that I am completely unhappy with, the chances are that I won't waste the time it takes to write a review on it anyway.  I'd rather use that time writing a letter to the manufacturer.  That said, I would have no problems making a post about it in the forums just to warn other members to stay away from it. 

I wouldn't have a problem posting a less than favorable review on a particular product, so long as the review was fair, objective, and respectful.  Words have meanings, and the way words are put together with each other can make all the difference in the world.   There is no review worth having legal problems over, IMO.

I would not be one to hold back on a truly crappy product. But I would not go out of my way to slam one unless it was dangerous to the user or was a total rip off...and even then, I would have MommaKat help me word it properly to stay out of trouble, if ya know what I mean.
